Room 5's Enviro T-Shirt

Enviro Class
Enviro Shirt Designing

Room 5 had a discussion about recreating the
enviro shirt to make it more Toko. We came up with this idea because the enviro
t-shirt we have now is too plain.  The class has been
working on designs for our new shirt.  We thought
we could put a wordle on the back.
Her are some photos of our brainstorming
We wanted to give the Enviro Leaders that leave a badge so that they can remember that the were enviro leaders at Toko School.  We are designing an enviro badge as well.

Here are some photos of our brainstorming

Cooking with Rhubarb - our thoughts

Manu
I enjoyed cutting the Rhubarb because it's the first time I've ever done  it. I enjoyed washing the Rhubarb one by one.  I liked the part of squeezing the lemons because it's the first time I have ever done it and when we tasted it, it was so yumm!

Izzy
I really enjoyed picking the mint out of the garden  for the mint sauce. I have learnt to read the recipe more carefully, because Tomas and I accidentally put salt instead of  sugar into the pot!  We had to start again. I also enjoyed  stirring the Rhubarb for the Rhubarb chutney.

Gus
I really liked squeezing the lemons because I got to grate the lemons as well I also got to cut the lemons. Cutting the rhubarb into little pieces was fun.

Judah
I enjoyed cutting the rhubarb up because they were so tempting, they also smelt delicious when they were cooking.

Liam
I really liked cooking and how they tasted when they were finished. I really liked being in the kitchen stirring the jam in the pot, too.

Tomas
I really liked how everyone had a job in each recipe, the way that we also used our own vegetables and tools was awesome! The jams came out so yumm!

Making Bunting for our Enviro Stall

Bunting was really fun and interesting. We traced the letters onto special paper. We then ironed the letters onto the fabric we choose. Then we cut the fabric  letter shape out. Mrs Mason cut the triangle flags and we stuck the letters onto them with the iron. We did two but only one is finished, the words were PRODUCE and PLANTS.
We all had jobs to do.

Tomas is ironing the letters.

Here is our bunting hanging up for our Enviro Stall.  It looks awesome.

2016 - Enviro Warriors Club

This year we have started an Enviro Warriors Club. The purpose of this club is to look at what we can do with the food we grow at school and to research food crops and plants that we can grow in our recycled bottle house.  The club has children from Year 3 - 8.  Each term we select new people to be involved in the club because it is so popular.  Mrs Mason takes the club on Fridays.
